SR/BR S15

SR/BR S15
Built from 1920-1936 the original locomotives (BR No.s30496-30515) were designed by Urie.
Maunsell modified the design by increasing the boiler pressure and reducing the cylinder diameter (BR No.s 30823-30847).
These locomotives were designed for fast freight and mixed traffic work and were given power class 6F by BR.
The original batch were mostly allocated to Feltham and could be found on inter regional workings in the London area, the later built engines were mostly allocated to Exeter, Salisbury as well as Feltham.
Their area of work could take them all over the Southern Region.
