B.R. Derby Works Class107

Introduced in 1960 and built in Derby Works 26 three car sets were produced.
These units were designed by British Rail followed on from the class 108 but with heavyweight steel welded construction weighing approximately 5 tons higher than the class 108.
They were designed specifically for use in Scotland 26 three car sets were produced and originally allocated to Hamilton Depot.
The motor cars were powered by 2 BUT(AEC) 150hp horizontal 6-cylinder engines.
These units spent their working lives in Scotland finding homes in Hamilton, Corkerhill, Eastfield and Haymarket throughout their lives.
6 individual cars have been preserved plus another used as a spares donator.
