GNR/LNER/BR J52

Initially designed by Stirling in 1892 and developed by Ivatt in 1897 production of these locomotives continued up until 1909.
In 1922 Gresley rebuilt the original Stirling batch.
They were designed for freight and shunting work these 0-6-0ST (Saddle Tank) locomotives could be found performing shunting and station pilot duties between, Kings Cross, Nottingham, Leeds Doncaster and Lincolnshire.
BR allocated power class 3F to these locos.

BR number series 68757-68889 and Departmental 1, 2, & 9.
The last locomotive was withdrawn in 1961.
1 has been preserved.
