GER/LNER/BR J66

Fifty 0-6-0T locomotives to the design of Holden were built between 1886 and 1888.
Of these 20 locomotives were brought into BR stock in 1948.
Designed for light freight and shunting the locomotives had steam brakes on the locomotive only.
They worked mainly in East London and East Anglia but four roamed as far as Staveley.
One locomotive was sold by the LNER to the Mersey Railway in 1937, this loco came back into BR stock in 1948.
The locomotives transferred to Departmental stock all worked at Stratford Works.

BR Numbers allocated 68370-68388 and Departmental Nos.31,32, & 36
The last locomotive was withdrawn in 1956 from capital stock and 1962 from Departmental stock.

The J66 sounds are generic as there are none in preservation.

The sounds are enhanced with archived sounds.

The file has been updated to the new functions.
Not all functions are available on all locomotives.
