GNR/LNER/BR C1 (Large Atlantic)

The C1 Class Atlantic (4-4-2) locomotives designed by Ivatt were a development of his previous C2 Atlantics.
Introduced in 1902 production continued up until 1910 with a total of 94 being built.
The locomotives spent their time on fast expresses on the routes out of Kings Cross to Leeds, York and Hull.
During the 1920s trains grew longer and heavier so the class were assigned lighter duties but often stood in for the larger Pacific locomotives which had replaced them.
Thirty two members of the class became British Railways stock in 1948 but only 2 lasted long enough to receive their BR allocated numbers.

BR Number series 62808-62885.
The last locomotive was withdrawn from BR stock in 1950.
One has been preserved.

The file has been updated to the new functions.
Not all functions are available on all locomotives.
