The Sentinel Wagon Works built large numbers of steam road trucks and small shunting engines for industry.
Examples of their work could be found all over the UK and further afield.
Of the mainline companies examples could be found on the GWR, LMS and LNER.
Industrial locomotives could be found in small private sidings and also organisations like the NCB.
The locomotives had high pressure boilers, cylinders and chain driven transmission, some examples were built with 2 speed gearboxes.
