Robinson 0-6-0 (GCR 9J/LNER/BR Class J11)

Robinson 0-6-0 (GCR 9J/LNER/BR Class J11)
Early in WW1 there was a requirement for locomotives of the 0-6-0 wheel arrangement with an axle loads of about 15 tons.
The weight restriction was however removed allowing heavier locomotives.
As a result of the restriction being lifted the Great Central Railway supplied 18 of their Class 9J (later LNER and BR Class J11) locomotives in May 1917.
All 18 were repatriated in the Spring of 1919.
The class was affectionally known as Pom-Poms as their exhaust beat resembled the noise that the Pom Pom gun made.

BR Number series 64280 - 64453.
Last member of class withdrawn 1962.
None have been preserved.
