GER/LNER/BR J15
In 1883 the Great Eastern Railway introduced these Worsdell designed 0-6-0 tender engines for mixed traffic duties.
They were very successful as production continued right up until 1913 through the reign of the three further Chief Mechanical Engineers, Holdens, Holden and Hill.
In total a quantity of 289 were built.
Of the total 127 were taken into British Railways stock in 1948.
They could be found on general freight work as well as passenger trains in London and East Anglia.
Five engines were fitted with side window cabs for working on the Colne Valley Line some had tender cabs fitted for protection whilst running in reverse.

BR Number series 65350 - 65479
The last locomotive was withdrawn from BR stock in 1962.
One has been preserved.
