CIE Class 2600 AEC/Park Royal

CIE Class 2600 AEC/Park Royal
In the late 40’s and early 50’s there was a great need to economise on the operational costs of running a railway.
To this end the CIE purchased 60 diesel railcars from the AEC company.
Each vehicle had 2 AEC 125 hp engines.
A full width cab at one end and corridor connections on the other.
The first 48 were composite vehicles the other 12 were third class only.

No. Series 2600-2647 (Composite vehicles) 2648-2659 (third class only)

As the CIE class 2600 AEC/Park Royal’s are no longer running the sounds are generic.

The sounds have been enhanced with archived sounds.

The engine has been recorded from an AEC DMU
