LMS/BR 5MT Black5
Introduced in 1934 and continued in production until 1951 this Stanier designed locomotive was a Mixed traffic 4-6-0.
The Black 5 as it became to be known was a general workhorse of the LMS.
The class could be found on anything from a humble freight to express passenger trains all the way from Thurso in the North of Scotland to Bournemouth on the South Coast.
BR number series44658-4599.
Last Locomotive withdrawn in 1967.
17 have been preserved.
The LMS Black 5 sounds have been recorded from the prototype.
