LNER/BR V1/V3
Designed by Gresley and introduced in 1930 the Class V1 was intended for work on the Suburban services in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The locomotives followed the standard 3 cylinder configuration as other Gresley designs.
In 1939 the V3 class with higher boiler pressure as introduced.
In total 92 of the V1/V3 class were produced.
The class soon found itself spread between many sheds on the LNER system especially where there was heavy suburban traffic.
They could be found all over the Eastern Region of BR running stopping passenger, parcels and freight trains

BR number series 67600-67691.
Last Locomotive withdrawn 1964, none have been preserved.
