BR Standard 2. 2-6-0
Almost identical to the LMS Ivatt 2MT Designed as part of the BR Standard Fleet and introduced in 1952 these 2-6-0 locos classified 2MT were scatted over all regions of BR apart from the Southern.
The Western locos were mostly used north of Gloucester/Hereford and on the lines in Central Wales. With their light axle loading they found work on passenger, freight and pilot duties.
BR number series 78000-78064.
Last Locomotive withdrawn in 1967.
4 have been preserved.
The Std 2 sounds have been recorded from the prototype.
