Class C201 Bo-Bo.
Built by Metropolitan Vickers, Manchester in 1956/7 these locomotives were designed to cover secondary services as part of the need to replace steam locomotives and provide a more economic service.
As with the Class A001 the Crossley ESTV8 550hp engines proved unreliable and the locomotives were, therefore, rebuilt with General Motors 8-B645E 1100hp units.
In 1986 six of the class were sold to Northern Ireland Railways becoming N.I.R. Class 104
