NIR Class 111
The Northern Ireland Railways class 111 are identical locomotives to the 071 class and were purchased for use on the Belfast-Dublin 'Enterprise' trains.
In the early 1990s 111 and 112 were modified with head end power for carriage heat and lighting but this was seldom used and has now been isolated.
Since the introduction of the class 201 class, 111s have been relegated to fright (mostly engineers trains).
One, No.112 was loaned to IE between 2003 and 2006.
No. Series NIR 111-113 (renumbered 8111-8113 in the early 2000s)
