These small tank locomotives were designed for dock shunting and work in yards where tight curves were present.
The original 20 locomotives designed by Adams were built between 1891 and 1893, a further 5 being built by Drummond in 1908.
These locomotives were displaced by the USA 0-6-0Tanks in 1947.
12 were therefore sold onto industrial users including Stewarts & Lloyds and Corral.
One was purchased by Butlins and displayed at their Skegness holiday camp in the company of LMS/BR Royal Scot 46100.
BR Number series 30081-30103, 30147 & 30176 .
Last locomotive withdrawn 1963.
2 have been preserved.
