Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0
Hudswell Clarke Industrial Shunter
Established in 1860 Hudswell Clarke built boats for the Aire and Calder Navigation branching out into locomotive production.
Their speciality was in small Industrial locomotives for mining, quarrying, docks and industry.
They never built anything much larger than 0-6-0s but had also produced narrow gauge and locomotives for miniature railways.
There are a number of preserved examples of Hudswell Clarkes’s work to be found on heritage railways all over the UK, there are even examples to be found in Australia, Denmark, USA, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal and Ireland.
The company also produced hydraulic mining equipment and is now part of the Hunslet Locomotive Company.
Many examples of Hudswell Clarke’s products can be found on preserved lines throughout the UK.
The Hudswell Clarke Industrial locomotive sounds have been recorded from the prototype.
