GWR Sentinel No. 12.
GWR Sentinel No. 12.
In 1927 the GWR either purchased or had on loan a small Sentinel steam locomotive for trial.
It was used on the Malmesbury Branch a purpose for which it was fitted with Vacuum brakes and steam heating.
It later worked in Brentford Goods yard.
The trials were not a success and the locomotive returned to sentinel.
In 1928 Sentinel loaned the locomotive to the LMS who as a result bought 4 for light shunting duties in works and harbours.
