LMS Patriot
LMS/BR Patriot
Introduced in 1930-1934 by Fowler these 4-6-0 locomotives were designed for express passenger working.
The original two were classified as rebuilds of the earlier Claughton class but in fact only the wheels were reused (an accounting exercise).
Eighteen were rebuilt from 1946 onwards with taper boilers by Ivatt the last one being so treated in 1949.
They could be found all over the LMS system on trunk routes.
Powr class 6P5F was allocated to the original series and class 7P to the rebuilt locos.
BR number series 45500-45551.
Last original Locomotive withdrawn in 1962.
Last rebuilt engine withdrawn in 1965.
None have been preserved but a new build is currently under development.
The LMS Patriot sounds are generic as there are none in preservation.
The sounds are enhanced with archived sounds.
The file has been updated to the new functions.
