SR/BR N15 “King Arthur”
These locomotives being a Maunsell development of the earlier Urie designed 4-6-0 locomotives.
Various detail differences in the class especially the tender type would either allow or restrict their use over specific areas of the Southern Region (eg. The bogie tendered locos were banned from working either the Brighton or South Eastern sections).
BR number series 30448-30457, 30736-30755, 30763-30832.
Last locomotive withdrawn 1962.
1 has been preserved.
The N15 sounds have been recorded from the prototype.
