NIR Driving Brake
NIR Driving Brake
For use with BR/Hunslet NIR Class 101 locomotives .
Northern Irish Railways bought 3 Driving Brake vehicles from British Railways Engineering works in Litchurch Lane, Derby.
The one first class vehicle being to the then standard BR Mark 2C body profile with the second class to Mark 2B standard.
Driving cabs added at the brake end to allow the trains to be propelled in Push/Pull mode.
Originally numbered 811,812 (second class) and 813 (first class) No. 811 seems to have been withdrawn fairly early.
Later renumbering saw 812 changed to 916 with 813 being renumbered 917.
The sounds for the driving brake are on a separate FX decoder sold separately.
These sounds can be operated separately or in conjunction with the NIR Class 101 Hunslet function buttons as long as both the locomotive and generator car are on the same address’s.
The sounds work directionally as do the head and tail lights.
The sounds have been enhanced with archived sounds.
